The Party

Kathryn's first birthday was lots of fun! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do and went from family only, to a play date in Birmingham with friends (since we moved) to party at our house with some close friends. She loves to swing and she loves to swim, so...a mermaid theme it was with swimming on the deck.

Here is the invitation. They were designed my Amy Lucurto.



The menu consisted of shell sandwiches (chicken salad),


fish food (fish crackers),
fruit,
starfish cookies



oyster crackers and pearls (oreo balls).


The table was decorated with a sandcastle pound cake (thanks Andrea) and hydrangeas from Pop's garden - fitting because we used these in our wedding and Pop sent them the day she was born.



To drink we had waters, mermaid juice, and ocean water.





The kids also enjoyed cupcakes along with goldfish and chocolates for a party favors displayed in a treasure chest with a note saying "You are a TREASURED friend."
